Memories Mist on Stampboard

I've been out of touch for a few days being down with a nasty cold! Finally feeling better today so I am back into the artwork. I saw a site referenced on Elaine Barr's blog http://elainebarrdesigns.blogspot.com/ for some wonderful rubber stamps & stampboard at http://www.stampscapes.com/home.html). I ordered this butterfly stamp from them which I absolutely love. Not only are their stamps wonderful, the service is absolutely top notch! I had my order in 2 days! I was impressed. This stampboard I did has memories mist for the background (various colors) & I stamped the butterfly with black Stazon ink. I did just a little coloring with some colored pencils & then placed glitter around the perimeter of the butterfly.
My first experiment with this. It was such fun, I ordered some more stamps & stampboard last night. I can't wait to play some more with this.

More transfer using acrylic paint

This is a transfer on 8x10 canvas using Lumiere acrylic paint. These are dear family friends. This wedding picture is 60+ years old. Quite the handsome couple! I am going to surprise them with this photo.
This is a transfer done using the Lumiere acrylic paint & transferred directly to canvas. It is a laser print from a vintage postcard.

Yikes...More transfers

This image transfer is the one I am most happy with. I transferred her directly to canvas using Lumiere gold acrylic paint. Once the image was transferred I added the rest. I have always prepared my background first but I've ruined so many backgrounds with bad image transfers that I believe this is the better way to do it.
This photo was transferred to stone using the Lumiere acrylic gold paint. A little bit of the image came off around her arm & her face peeled in half when I rubbed off the paper. I had to cut out another head from the same image & did the head alone a 2nd time. I'm pretty happy with her, too.

This is transferred directly to canvas using Lumiere gold acrylic paint. She has the crackle going on.

Now that I'm home from ArtFest I have returned to my image transfer obsession! This is one that I transferred directly to the canvas using Lumiere acrylic gold paint . I was pretty darn happy with this one!

More ArtFest trades & class projects

This is the morpheus box Gail made in Michael DeMeng's class. The center turns so there's 4 sides to it. Very very nice!
This is the beautiful butterfly my sister, Gail mosaiced in Katherine England's class, Break Your Art. It is so gorgeous & look at those edges! Fabulous job! Gail was so lucky to have classes with Katherine & Michael DeMeng. She said they were both wonderful instructors.

This is another one done by Kathy. I believe it was in her Misty Mawn class, Adaptations. What a great job!

This is another picture that Kathy completed in her Family Paintover class. This is her mother & father. We were all so impressed with Kathy's natural talent. She did a fabulous job on everything she made at ArtFest & it was her first time there.

Another ArtFest trade . This one came from Brenda Kessler. We had so much fun the first night sitting in the floor going through our bags of trades. It was like Christmas!

I had to post a few trades from ArtFest. I absolutely love these three. From what I can read on the reverse side it looks like Anna Schwindt did the one on the left, Dorte Bistrup did the one in the middle & Cristy Hersley did the wonderful one on the right. I just love the flowers in her little hand!

Our last day at Artfest...Boo Hoo!! What a great time we all had. We all took different classes so our knowledge could be shared with our dorm mates. The entire event was wonderful. I will post more pics in a few days.
This is my Symbolic Icon picture. Minnie took this class with Anahata on Friday & we stayed up until 1:00 A.M while she went over all the techniques with the rest of the group. The following pictures are the result of her night time class with us. We all so enjoyed learning this & we love Minnie for always sharing with us!

This is Kathy's Anahata inspired photo. This was under Minnie's instructions from her Symbolic Icons class.
