ArtFest Trades

Faux dichroic glass for ArtFest trades. I made about 100 of these.
More faux dichroic glass.

Artfest is finally about to happen. I've actually been making trades for months! It's been like living & breathing ArtFest for last six months and let me tell you...it's been WONDERFUL! I am so excited to attend but not happy to hear it's snowing in Seattle! Oh well, a little snow won't stop us. I have three wonderful days of classes starting with The Ultimate Art Journal with Tom & Romona Ashman, day 2 is with Linda & Opie O'Brien for Flat to Stacked (a bracelet) & last but not least Patricia Seggebruch with Alcohol Acrylic Magic.

How's that for a line-up? I've made around 225 trades to exchange with other ArtFesters. I have faux dichroic glass, bookmarks and brass & copper etchings. The event is held in Pt Townsend Wa. I am leaving early Monday morning to join my sister in Everett, Wa. We also have a friend coming from Connecticut as well as 2 others from So. Ca. I will be posting photos when I return.

Last minute ArtFest trades. All etched copper.

Image Transfers using Liquid Sculpey

A 3x5 Kinkos laser copy using Liquid Sculpey. Picture baked for 30 minutes at 275 degrees. What a lovely young lady! I love image transfers!!!

These were done using sculpey also & baked for 30 minutes. Kinkos laser copy used.

While Minnie's was here this weekend we also dabbled in some image transfers. This one was a laser print from Kinkos using sculpey on the front & baking for 30 minutes at 275 degrees. I was quite happy with her.

Minnie paid me a visit this weekend & brought a sample of some of her ArtFest trades with her. Just look at the etching on that key!!! She did a wonderful job on these.
One of Minnie's trades for ArtFest.

Dexter, the beautiful Bengal boy

This is my dear sweet Dexter. He is almost 18 months old. My brother breeds Bengals in Everett, Wa. which is how I came to own Dexter. He took an Alaska Air flight to California when he was 3 months old. He was really a handful in the beginning, unlike ANY cat I've ever had. He is an absolute joy!
I had to include this one. Yes, this is really his mouth & the picture has not been altered. He has the largest mouth of any cat I have ever owned. With all that mouth you would think he'd be giving out kisses but believe me, he isn't! Everything is on Dexter's terms.

I am feeling just a little bit tired right now. Posing for all these pictures is exhausting!

Messin with Memories Mist

I learned about Memory Mist in my amstamps (amstamps.com) Yahoo group. Finally after hearing so much about them I viewed Elaine Barr's You Tube video & I was HOOKED! It is like a pigment ink spray that leaves a watercolor type affect. It is made by Superior (stewartsuperior.com) & it's pretty new. I purchased mine on Ebay but Superior has some places listed on their website where it can be purchased. I used 4 colors for all of mine but there's apparently 12 colors available. I've done some pictures with just the backgrounds & then some I rubber stamped & laminated. These are done on a glossy type bookmarks. You can use on a matte type paper but it just has a different look. The colors I used on these were, Orange Juice, Blueberry Shake, Margarita & Mango Lemonade.

Kind of like a 60's memory!

I just love the way the colors mix together.

More backgrounds.

Some glossy cards done with 2 different crocheted doilies.

San Francisco Trip

What a weekend! Left Thursday for San Francisco. I met my sister, Gail & we stayed with my niece, Alexis. We also met our good friend Minnie & her daughter, Ashley there. We hit Flax on Friday & saw Beach Blanket Babylon Friday night. Saturday we hit Scrap in San Francisco. OMG....that was an experience too. From there we hit the Annie Leibovitz exhibit at one of the local museums. It was just fabulous, the entire weekend. L-R Ashley, Alexis, Minnie & Gail
My first trip to Flax on Market St. in San Francisco. Love it, love it, love it!!!! Over 7000 varieties of paper! Very exciting!

I thought this record store was so cute! It is located across the street from Flax in San Francisco.
